The Barnet Group are pleased to announce the launch of their Community Chest Fund. We know what a difficult year our residents and service users have had and we want to help you celebrate being able to ‘Get Together’ again. The fund is available for you to apply to if you would like to organise a social get together in your community.

The Community Chest Fund is available to Barnet Homes and Opendoor Homes residents who wish to host their own local community event or project that brings people together.

The fund is also available to Barnet based community groups and charities to host events or deliver community projects where Barnet Homes, Opendoor Homes and Your Choice Barnet residents and services users are the main beneficiaries.

The fund is keen to support projects that

  • Encourages local people to come together through social events
  • Address cost of living
  • Improve local peoples physical and mental wellbeing

Applications will only be considered where Barnet Homes, Opendoor Homes residents and Your Choice Barnet service users are the main beneficiaries.

There are now two tiers of funding available:

  • Tier 1 up to £500 – Individual resident or local group of residents that may not have a company bank account
  • Tier 2 £500-£1000 Local charities and community organisations that have a company bank account

You can apply by filling out our online form available here. In your application you will have to outline:

  • What the funding will cover
  • When and where you plan to hold your event
  • How many people are likely to attend
  • How much funding you are requesting

All applications will have to demonstrate:

  • The event aims to bring the community together
  • That it is inclusive to all
  • That you have an achievable outcome
