Barnet Council’s new 75-home extra care scheme has been completed in Hendon and handed over to The Barnet Group.
Hester Court is a newly built extra care scheme specialising in supporting older people with additional support needs. It has been built on the Upper and Lower Fosters estate in Hendon, as part of a wider development programme which will deliver a total of 217 new homes.
Hester Court has 75 wheelchair accessible one- and two-bed flats, with a modern design and communal areas where tenants can interact with each other. People who are over 55 and have a housing and social care need will be eligible to move in.
Architects Allies and Morrison have designed all the newly built properties on the Upper and Lower Fosters Estate, and the main contractors are Hill Group.
Colourways has carried out the internal design for Hester Court. Hill Group have worked on the construction of this project and has been working with the Barnet Homes team for the past three years, who have managed the project.
The scheme will be managed by Your Choice Barnet (YCB) on behalf of Barnet Council. YCB is The Barnet Group’s provider of adult care. Residents are expected to start moving in from June 2025.
