Anges, a local resident recently put forward an idea for a community choir and applied for funding from the TBG Community Chest Fund.
Agnes said “Since receiving the Community Chest funding, we have realised several key benefits. We have established working relationships with Mill Hill Library and Choir Master Ryan.
“We have conducted six successful choir practice sessions at Mill Hill Library in the NW7 hub, providing enjoyable and engaging experiences for residents/participants.
“We catered for participants of all ages, including a pregnant stay-at-home mum who valued the beneficial social interaction.
“Future inclusivity initiated efforts to secure additional funding to make the choir accessible to community members who cannot afford other social interactions. We received positive feedback from regular attendees who adjusted their schedules to join, benefiting from the sessions’ joyful and uninhibited atmosphere under Ryan’s expert guidance.
Feedback received:

“Singing is a wonderful pastime; you don’t have to have a great voice, but you certainly come away feeling good at the end of the session” – Christine
“Ryan is an excellent teacher and everyone feels uplifted after singing with the choir” – Penny
“Library visitors occasionally joined our sessions spontaneously, reflecting increased community engagement and interest. The funding has been crucial in improving our operations, participant satisfaction, and future sustainability. Thank you to the Sponsors of the TBG Community Chest Fund.”
