There’s an old saying, ‘dogs are life, not just for Christmas’, but the sad reality is, according to Dogs Trust, is that there has been a 54% increase in new pets being ‘ditched’ shortly after the festive period.
This is why we are working in partnership with Dogs Trust to support Barnet residents, including Barnet Homes’ tenants, to be responsible dog owners. For example, all dogs must are required to be micro chipped, by law, as of April 2018.
Barnet Homes and Dogs Trust are holding a community event for dog owners on 5th April at The Concourse on Grahame Park from 11am to 3pm. Bring yourself and your pet-dog, of course.
Apart from micro chipping advice, there will be lots of advice around ensuring your dog stays healthy – and training tips.
We are going to be handing out hot-dogs for free to every Barnet Homes’ dog owner who attends – so there’s plenty on offer for the doggies and their owners!
