If you live in the area of Childs Hill (including Whitefields, Child’s Hill and Cricklewood) and have been long-term unemployed and looking for help with opportunities to achieve your aspirations – please join us at a community launch event we are having on 13 April.

BOOST Childs Hill is having an official launch on Thursday 13 April at Granville Rd Estate car-park, Llanelly Rd NW2 in the Careers Coach 11am – 3pm.

Now a spin-off project, BOOST Childs Hill, again funded by Barnet Council, has started to help the residents of Childs Hill, in Finchley and Golders Green, to tackle levels of unemployment, training, volunteering and access to benefits.

You might recall that in the summer of 2015 a pilot project called BOOST (Burnt Oak Opportunity Support Team) launched. The project, whose aim is to support people to find work and access a wide range of support in their communities, was so successful it received council funding for a further year.

BOOST Childs Hill started its first job club in December and will now be running job clubs every 3rd Tuesday of every month at the Childs Hill Children’s Centre from 1pm – 3pm.

Similarly to the original BOOST project, the BOOST Childs Hill Jobs Team will have support from our partners Jobcentre Plus, Future Path and Cambridge Education (Post-16 education employment and skills). The project will be also working with residents associations, community groups and encourage local volunteering opportunities.

Please contact violet.northover@barnethomes.org Team Leader of the BOOST Childs Hill Support Team if you would like further information.
