Dozens of firefighters are set to take part in an emergency training exercise at Franklin House, West Hendon Estate on Friday 26 February 2016.
Members of the public are urged not to panic if they see firefighters around a smoke-billowing building at Franklin House from 10am
Although the firefighters will be real, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) has assured people ahead of the event that both the smoke and the emergency will be fake.
The exercise is being held to give fire crews the chance to hone their skills in real locations, rather than relying on fire towers more commonly used for training.
The exercise will include the use of cosmetic smoke which, although it looks real, is not harmful and will not affect members of public or the environment. However, you should still dial 999 if there is a genuine emergency.
These training exercises offer firefighters the opportunity to familiarise themselves with different types of buildings and venues, to ensure they are able to deal with a range of emergencies and to test their equipment and procedures.
