Barnet Homes’ successful roof replacement programme is now well in its fourth year. Phase one of this year’s programme comprises 175 houses with works moving into the New Barnet and High Barnet areas.

Lovell (Morgan Sindall) recently completed the entire estate at Bulwer Gardens and are currently working their way through individual houses in New Barnet at Westbrook Crescent, Hertford Road, Armstrong Crescent and the Bevan Estate.

High resident satisfaction levels are being achieved throughout the contract. Despite a variety of obstacles, such as numerous wasps nests, works needed to remove old water tanks and asbestos material, our roofers have continued to improve on their performance and time spent on each property.

The hot weather this summer also caused an unusual problem as the roofers had to withdraw from their works. It wasn’t because they wanted to watch Wimbledon or the Cricket Test Match! Nobody thinks of sunny weather as being a barrier to working outside but when temperatures soared the roofing tiles literally became too hot to handle! However, they adjusted their working hours in the mornings and still made good progress. Our customers also refer roof financing FAQs, to get a better idea of our deals.

The cooler weather might be disappointing for the sun worshiper but it has allowed the pace of completions to pick up and the roofers will soon be moving on to new properties in the EN5 High Barnet area.
