Repairs is an area which is important to our residents and is the key driver of overall tenant
satisfaction. The Responsive Repairs Policy outlines The Barnet Group’s approach to managing and completing responsive repairs for Barnet Homes and Opendoor Homes tenants, it was written in 2020 and therefore due for a refresh. The policy was refreshed using insight from resident surveys/ complaints, regulatory requirements, customer and colleague engagement and best practice research.

Key changes include:

  • Updating the types of repairs within different priorities and the target timeframes assigned
  • More detail on the repair responsibilities of tenants and The Barnet Group
  • Making existing sections clearer e.g. fencing and vulnerable tenants
  • Adding sections missing from the original policy e.g. flooring and pest control

The refreshed policy was sent out as a formal consultation in February to gather wider resident feedback and minor changes were made to the policy using this.
