Masher Brothers donated £1,000 in shopping vouchers for struggling families. Their act of kindness a donation will go to those supported by TBG’s Floating Support, PA Choices and Domestic Abuse services. Emma Westgarth at Masher Brothers said” Christmas and the winter months can be a challenging time for some residents. We hope that our contribution alleviates some of the pressure and allows them to enjoy the festive period. We would like to wish all resident a happy holiday and a prosperous 2025.
One resident said” thank you so much for the voucher this will help with the cost of essentials over Christmas for my family I really appreciate it”
RGE have funded Christmas Parties at each of our 14 Sheltered housing schemes – the residents have enjoyed buffet lunches, full Christmas dinners and even a wine and cheese afternoon at one scheme. There has of course been crackers, festive music and lots of chatting and laughter.
Sheltered Housing and Support Manager Bridget Mullins said” Many thanks to RGE who generously sponsored the sheltered scheme Christmas tenants parties this year. This very kind and thoughtful gesture is greatly appreciated by the tenants who have enjoyed meeting, to chat and have lunch to celebrate Christmas together.
Thank you to the Sheltered Housing Officers (SHOs) have worked hard to ensure that the parties were a great success. Preventing loneliness is one of the most important parts of SHOs roles, and social interactions are important for the good mental health of people of all ages but especially older people, and those who are less mobile so events like these can be very important for those who may otherwise not have family or friends locally.
