Residents across the borough are being urged to register to vote in the elections for the Mayor of London and London Assembly taking place on Thursday 2 May.
The deadline is today, Tuesday 16 April at 11:59pm – all registration applications must be received by. Residents can register to vote here.
The deadline for applying for a postal vote also falls next week, with residents needing to apply for a postal vote by 5pm on Wednesday 17 April. Postal vote applications can be made here.
These will be the first elections to be held in Barnet where voter ID is required. The UK Government has introduced a requirement for voters to show photo ID when voting at a polling station. More information about voter ID and the different formats that are acceptable can be found on the Electoral Commission website or via their helpline at 0800 328 0280.
