Last Tuesday Sheltered Housing residents game together for a ball of an afternoon at our Summer Tea Dance with food, live music, dancing and a raffle.
Sheltered Housing and Support Manager Bridget Mullins said “A huge thank you to the Community Chest Fund for generously sponsoring the Sheltered Tea Dance with £1000, enabling us to put on this wonderful event that took place. It was a great success and so uplifting to see how very much all the residents enjoyed themselves. People of all ages and abilities singing along to the music, dancing and having fun”
There is a proven benefit to social interactions which are important for the good mental health of people of all ages but especially older people, and those who are less mobile. Events like this prevent and reduce a sense of loneliness and lead to better health and general wellbeing and can be very important for those who may otherwise not have the opportunity to socialise much, or do not have family or friends who live locally.
This event was made possible through sponsorship from The Barnet Group’s Community Chest Fund contractor sponsors.. Thank you to all those involved in sponsoring, organising and those that gave up their time to help out on the day.
