Tuesday 13th March 2018: Re-cladding of three Granville Estate tower blocks
A fully fire tested and A1 rated noncombustible aluminium cladding system will be installed on three tower blocks at Barnet Homes’ Granville Estate starting in Spring, with the aim of having the work completed by the end of the year.
Barnet Council committed £17.5million towards a range of high-priority fire safety works across 26 tower blocks, which includes the removal and re-cladding of the three blocks at Granville Estate.
The chosen replacement system is solid aluminium with stonewool insulation, has undergone a full BR135 fire test and, with a subsequent fire safety rating of A1 non-combustible, exceeds the requirements of the current building regulations for fire resistance.
Barnet Homes understands it has been a challenging and stressful time for the residents affected, and is very pleased to now be providing a safe and high-quality solution.

Friday 13th October 2017: Cladding removed from three Granville Estate tower blocks
We are pleased to confirm that the removal of the cladding on the three tower blocks on the Granville Road Estate, Templewood Point, Granville Point and Harpenmead Point, is almost completed. We will need to undertake additional works to replace the panels adjacent to balconies as soon as we have identified suitable materials.
We would like to thank all our residents for their generous cooperation and patience during this process.
Barnet Homes is working on a solution for a replacement system, with a view to completing this by winter 2018.
