Barnet Homes’ ‘decorate a room’ programme is provided through contractors to residents who are unable to decorate their homes.

We recently had two tenants make use of the service. The first was an elderly gentleman in Hendon with mobility issues who needed some making good to the kitchen ceiling and painting of the room and woodwork.

The second resident was an elderly lady in Muswell Hill who has dementia who needed some support in giving her bedroom a freshen-up.

Both residents have carers to support them with their daily routines and would not be able to decorate themselves.

When our contractors Masher Brothers received the request they were happy to help and completed both jobs to a high standard within in a short amount of time

Emma Westgarth, Financial Controller and HR Manager, said ” Our team is consistently hardworking, nevertheless they endeavour to support residents where they can. This time they came to the assistance of an elderly man with mobility problems and an elderly lady living with dementia. In a short amount of time, Esat’s team have transformed the rooms they needed decorated to a high standard. We trust the residents and their careers are overjoyed with the results.

Feedback from the residents was that both are happy with their freshly painted rooms, and that it makes a huge difference for them as they are mostly housebound.

A big thank you Esat Kastrati, Emma Westgarth, Joseph Campbell, and the rest of the team at Masher Brothers.
