Do you have a flexible tenancy? Did you know that in August 2023 Barnet Council made the decision to end the granting of flexible tenancies. New tenants are now allocated secure lifetime tenancies and you can have your flexible tenancy varied now to also become a lifetime secure tenancy.
If you do have a flexible tenancy, it will have an end date and you could be subject to a review near the time, to decide if you should be granted a replacement secure lifetime tenancy or not.

Please note that a review would only be necessary if you are in significant breach of any of your tenancy conditions. Otherwise, upon expiry, your flexible tenancy will automatically become a secure lifetime tenancy, as allowed for in section 86 of The Housing Act 1985. You would not have to do anything. We will update our records on expiry to reflect the change. The same tenancy conditions you currently have will continue to apply.
