This week, we’re happy to share a story from our contractors, Masher Brothers, who supported a vulnerable resident who was unable to decorate her property due to ongoing health conditions. Masher Brothers decorated her bedroom, including stripping the wallpaper and some patch plasterwork, and then painted the room and woodwork pure white at her request.

Emma Westgarth from Masher Brothers said “We enjoy assisting on social value projects where we can make a significant difference quickly. Transforming the bedroom of a resident, whose personal restrictions makes it difficult for them to do certain activities, is a lovely win for us. Our wonderful team immediately jumped on the request, and the transformation is remarkable. We hope it will have an immeasurable impact on their life.

Bridget Mullins, Barnet Homes’ Sheltered Housing and Support Manager, said, “This vulnerable tenant’s physical and mental health issues make it difficult for her to do certain activities, including decorating her property.

She is very grateful to Masher Brothers Contractors for coming to her rescue and decorating her bedroom. She has a young son who stays with her on weekends, and this has meant that the home is more welcoming and comfortable for them both.”

This type of input, so generously provided by contractors, is of particular benefit to the vulnerable people who could not afford to pay for it to be done or could not do it themselves.”

Thank you to Esat Kastrati and the rest of the Masher Brothers team!
