The social housing landlord has supported its former apprentice Myles Duffy for the past four years in various short-term posts within the organisation. Now a Trainee Operational Inspector, Myles is one of six left in the running for the Career Development of the Year category.
Derek Rust Director of Operations says: “This is what we’d hoped for when we launched the apprenticeships at Barnet Homes. We are therefore very proud that Myles has taken up the opportunities the apprenticeship has given him and gone on to forge a career. Myles is a great role model for his community and his family and he has certainly come through some challenging odds – so we are delighted he’s been shortlisted in the Career Development category.”
The winners will be revealed Monday 22 June, the night before the annual Chartered Institute of Housing conference.
Emma Maier, editor of Inside Housing, said: “All the finalists have done incredibly well in getting this far because the standard of entries this year was stronger than ever. Congratulations to Myles from Barnet Homes for being shortlisted. This is a real achievement in itself given there were almost 35 entries in some categories.”
