Children and teenagers living on two Barnet estates will be able to enjoy a fun range of activities each week thanks to the launch of new youth clubs by social landlord Barnet Homes.
A new club at the Fosters Estate in Hendon opened its doors for the first time on Tuesday 1 February, with a second due to start at the North Road Estate in Burnt Oak from Friday 18 March.
The new clubs are the result of Barnet Homes campaign last summer, called Enjoy where you live, where staff worked with local residents on ways of tackling low-level antisocial behaviour. Young people and adults at the two estates highlighted the need for a new youth clubs in their area.
The new club at the Fosters Estate is being run by Barnet Playrangers every Tuesday from 4.30pm to 8.30pm at Cheshir Hall in Foster Street, NW4, for an initial six week trial period to gauge popularity.
Meanwhile, the club at the North Road Estate in Burnt Oak will open for a six week trial from 4.30pm to 8.30pm every Friday from 18 March at the North Road Community Centre in Burnt Oak Broadway. The club will be managed by the local North Road Community Association in partnership with the Barnet Playrangers.
