Barnet Homes

Your responsibilities

You must pay all charges that are due for estate services, repairs and management fees.

Within four weeks of a sale of a freehold, you or a representative must provide the council with details of the new owner, who will then be responsible for paying service charges.

You must also:

• Pay all charges that are due for services, repairs and management fees.

• Keep your home in good repair. You may be charged for any necessary repairs. Find out how to request a repair.

• Ensure that other members of your household (including children) or visitors do not cause a nuisance, harass or disturb other residents. You must pay for any damage they cause to council property.

• Pay other charges relating to your property, such as contents insurance, gas, water and electricity charges, council tax, parking charges and rent for a garage of parking space

Our responsibilities

We will repair and maintain the shared areas of the estate.

Service charges

You can find an explanation of service charges and how to pay here.

Your service charges include costs for services provided to your estate and also management costs for supervising services and repairs, maintaining records, answering inquiries, issuing service charge bills and collecting service charges.

For freeholders, the management fee was set in April 2011 as a flat fee of £35.  Please note, this cost forms part of your overall service charge.
