Can I identify products or material containing asbestos? 

NO. The only way to be sure is to take a sample and have it scientifically analysed. This is a specialist job, which can only be carried out by specially licensed contractors and laboratories.

Modern asbestos-free material often looks similar to products that do contain asbestos, but this cannot be confirmed without specialist testing or advice.
