Barnet Homes is committed to promoting equality and diversity, and our goal is to embed it into everything we do.

For us, the terms equality and diversity mean the following:
Equality
For Barnet Homes equality is about ensuring everyone has fair and equal access to all services. Equality is not achieved by treating everyone the same and giving a one-size-fits-all service, but is about recognising that people have different needs that can be met in different ways.
Diversity
This is about valuing the individual differences people bring to Barnet Homes, whether that be through race: gender; sexuality; religion or belief (including non belief); disability; or any other characteristic that makes us who we are.
By recognising the diversity of our workforce we can make the most of people's talents. By ensuring our workforce and Board are representative of our residents and by valuing each other's differences we will be able to provide a better service to our residents which meets their needs.

David Atta, our Equality and Diversity Board Champion (right), said:
"As both Board Member and resident of Barnet Homes, I have experienced first hand the vital contribution that valuing diversity and equality makes towards building both a successful organisation and supporting our communities.
"This commitment is made clear through the publication of our Equality Policy Statement and is brought to life daily in the behaviours and standards of all at Barnet Homes.
"As Board Champion, I endeavour to play my part in supporting these high standards, and ensuring their constant presence in all matters of corporate governance."
