Barnet Homes was created by Barnet Council to manage and modernise its council homes and estates. We are a non-profit making company owned by Barnet Council.
We took over responsibility for managing Barnet's 15,000 council homes, including 3,900 leasehold properties, from 1 April 2004. In the spring of 2011 we completed a £185million programme to bring all of our retained stock (non-regeneration properties) up to the government's Decent Homes standard (external link).
We offer a range of specific services, including:
Repairs service
Caretaking service
Help with independent living
Antisocial behaviour service
Assist emergency alarm service (open to non-Barnet Homes residents also)
Barnet Homes is managed by a Board made up of council nominees, tenants, one leaseholder and independent directors with professional skills and experience to help run the services.
