Keeping residents safe and engaged in high-rise buildings

High-rise residential buildings are ones which are at least seven storeys or 18 metres high.

Keeping residents safe in their homes is our top priority. It is also crucial that residents feel safe in their homes. It is important for residents to be well-informed and heard on matters of fire and building safety.

In line with Government guidance to meet the requirements of the Buillding Safety Act 2022 and in collaboration with residents, Barnet Homes have developed the High-Rise Residential Buildings: Resident Engagement Strategy.

This strategy focuses on building safety and reflects the input of residents living in Barnet Homes properties. Residents from nine of our high-rise buildings participated in telephone surveys and focus groups, sharing their thoughts and experiences. Involved residents reviewed the draft strategy, which outlined how we will engage with residents and consult with them on building safety decisions. Their feedback has been invaluable, especially regarding the best ways to communicate and share information to meet everyone’s needs.
