With the cost-of-living crisis affecting so many this winter, Barnet Homes’s repairs contractors Masher Brothers have kindly donated £1,500 worth of shopping vouchers to help some of our most vulnerable residents and families to pay for essentials over the festive period.

The 30 x £50 vouchers are helping a total of 30 vulnerable residents/ families living in Barnet. These include twenty-two service users from BH’s Floating Support team and YCB’s PA Choices, and 8 women and children staying at Minerva House Domestic Violence Refuge over Christmas.

The Care & Support staff Lydia Oyeniran and Helen Young were asked by Masher Brothers to put forward recipients who were known to be in need.  Julie Riley, Group Director of Care & Support said, “It is great that through this generous donation from Masher Brothers that we have been able to offer this support to so many people.”

A Minerva House representative said, “We are so grateful to Masher Brothers for their generous donation of shopping vouchers. They really will make a difference to the families staying at the refuge over Christmas.”

Dan Allen, Senior Operations Manager from Masher Brothers said, “We are committed to adding social value to the local community where we work and where we feel that we can make a big difference. Particularly at Christmas we are very keen to help some of those groups who we know are really struggling.”
