Barnet Homes have been awarded the accolade of Employer of the Year 2016 at the annual Barnet and Southgate College ‘One College Many Stars’ awards.
We were shortlisted as the winner of the Employer of the Year from over 800 other organisations that work with Barnet and Southgate College.
We have been working in partnership with Barnet and Southgate College for the past six years delivering their apprenticeship scheme.
The College’s apprenticeship programme provides a wonderful opportunity for local residents to learn while developing skills needed to gain employment.
Barnet Homes’ Deputy Chief Executive Derek Rust said: “I am delighted with Barnet Homes’ being awarded Employer of the Year Award from Barnet and Southgate College. It is a reflection of the progress the apprenticeship scheme has made over the past six years.
Derek continues: “We pride ourselves on involving residents in all that we do, and that includes working for Barnet Homes itself. As one of the largest employers in the borough we want to help residents find work, especially younger tenants and school leavers who are finding it harder in the difficult economic climate to find a way into employment.”
Two of Barnet Homes’ current apprentices, Kevin Lukau and Natasha Trivedi attended the star-studded evening alongside Barnet Homes’ Learning and Development Manager Jennie Wyatt and its Employment and Training Co-ordinator Jacqui Jones.
