There’s a lot going on in Grahame Park at the moment.
On Friday August 28, last day of the school summer holidays, we held our annual sporting event Urban Gamez on the estate concourse where more than 100 residents took part.
During the event we also launched a new brand new initiative called Bin it for Good and guess what? We are inviting Grahame Park and all our residents to take part in this, too.
Bin it for Good project is the new anti-litter project of Keep Britain Tidy and The Wrigley Company, encouraging cleaner streets which also benefits local charities and good causes. Barnet Homes is 1 of 7 organisations across the country taking part in the innovative three month project.
Three local charities will be promoting Bin it for Good to residents, starting from this month/September it will be Colindale Park Food Bank.
Tobi Olagbaju of The Colindale Foodbank said: “We are delighted to be part of the Bin It for Good campaign encouraging litter awareness and aversion. We hope that Colindale Food Bank can play an active role in reducing the amount of rubbish seen in Colindale and particularly in the Grahame Park Estate.”
Each local charity has a month to encourage their fellow residents to reduce littering in the area – as the amount of rubbish collected in that month relates to the amount of money going to the charity. October will be the turn of Grahame Park Independent Living, (an over-50s group) Living and in November Grahame Park Youth will be the featured charity.
Look out for the branded Bin it for Good litterandrecycling bins all over Grahame Park estate so residents know as well as keeping their local area clean, they are raising money for local charities which invest in local communities.
So Get Ready Set Go, get involved and support your local charity by binning your rubbish.
